Clinical Supervision
Supporting autism-informed reflective practice
Supervision grounded in lived and clinical experience
I offer clinical supervision and consultation for psychologists, therapists and other professionals who want to develop thoughtful, autism-informed practice across assessment, therapy and wider clinical work.
This work draws on my experience within NHS services, where I have provided supervision and consultation to psychologists, therapists and multidisciplinary colleagues across a range of clinical settings. The focus has been on supporting clinicians to adapt psychological therapies for autistic and neurodivergent people, informed by the emerging evidence base, lived experience, and the principles of neuro-affirming practice.
How I work
Supervision and consultation are collaborative and reflective, creating space to think carefully about practice rather than applying one-size-fits-all models. The emphasis is on:
- Adapting psychological therapies in ways that fit neurodivergent ways of thinking, sensing and relating.
- Developing autism-informed formulation rather than relying on surface-level adjustments.
- Integrating research evidence with clinical judgement and lived experience.
- Thinking critically about where traditional models help — and where they need adaptation.
- Supporting ethical, compassionate and effective practice across different contexts.
This work often spans professions and settings, reflecting the reality that autism-informed practice does not sit neatly within a single discipline.
Areas of focus may include
- Autism-informed assessment and formulation
- Adapting therapeutic approaches for autistic adults
- Working with masking, burnout and identity
- Sensory, relational and contextual considerations in therapy
- Navigating complexity, uncertainty and differential presentations
- Reflective CPD and professional development
Impact
Feedback from clinicians has consistently highlighted how this supervision and consultation has changed the way they think about and deliver their work, increasing confidence, depth of understanding and flexibility in practice.
The aim is not to provide prescriptive answers, but to support clinicians to develop their own autism-informed, reflective stance — one that continues to evolve beyond the supervision space.
