Clinical expertise informed by the realities of neurodivergent living
Walking alongside from a place of understanding
.
.
I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working in NHS adult mental health services. My practice has developed across a range of clinical settings, supporting people with complex mental health needs, trauma and neurodivergence.
Over time — and informed by my own late identification as an autistic person — my work has increasingly focused on autism-informed practice and understanding how services can better recognise, adapt to and support neurodivergent lives. For the past three years, I have worked within a specialist autism service, supporting other psychologists, therapists and services to adapt assessment and therapy through consultation, supervision and training. This has included supporting multidisciplinary working and helping services develop more accessible, neuro-affirming ways of working.
As well as my professional role, I am a parent and carer within a neurodivergent family. Living alongside the everyday realities of difference — including the challenges of navigating education, health and social systems — has deepened my understanding of what supports help people and families to thrive, and where systems can inadvertently create barriers.
My Vision
Building on this foundation, my vision is to establish a private practice that is firmly rooted in neuro-affirming principles:
- Autism identification for adults informed by clinical experience, alongside compassion, understanding and personal meaning.
- Post-identification support focused on what autism means to the individual, shaping an individualised path to autistic wellbeing.
- Adapted psychological therapies that meet neurodivergent people where they are and work at a pace that fits.
- Clinical supervision and consultation to develop thoughtful, autism-informed practice.
- Tailored training that builds real understanding, and practical relevance, not just awareness.
A service that brings depth, care and understanding to neurodivergent lives, and to support practices and systems that adapt to people, rather than expecting people to adapt to them.
Qualifications & Approach
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from Newcastle University. I am trained in the MIGDAS-2 as part of a neuro-affirming approach to autism diagnostic assessment. I am an experienced EMDR Practitioner, as well as DBT-trained, (intensive training and masterclasses) and qualified to offer CBT. My work is grounded in collaborative psychological formulation, clinical and lived experience and a compassion-focused approach, using evidence-based therapies that are thoughtfully adapted to fit the individual.
I aim to offer a therapeutic space that is supportive, respectful and effective — helping you make sense of your experiences, navigate current challenges, and work towards a life that feels more balanced, meaningful and sustainable.
